First Mercon LV (recommend for 6R80 transmission) is a semi-synthetic. It is definitely good for HIGHER CONTINUOUS OPERATING TEMPERATURE than Mercon V. Any document that references them BOTH in the context of the same operating temperature is distributing bad information.who the eff said anything about all day?
learn to read.... i said the enemy isn't the oil, it's the sluff from clutch material contaminating the oil- and it should be replaced immediately. however, 240 isn't a big deal anymore for short periods of time and as long as it's allowed to circulate and cool before it stops pumping through.
