I just bought a 2008 XLT. I saw on the original window sticker that the vehicle was ordered by the GSA, so it had some kind of government use. When I looked it over prior to buying it, I didn't think to look at the roof. I was standing on the running board wiping the windshield today and noticed a couple of rubber plugs on the roof. So it's obvious there were antennas on the roof.
That's no big deal, but it looks like it had a light bar attached to the roof. There are 3 small holes on each side of the roof, probably from sheet metal screws. That's not a huge problem, but what would be the best way to plug them? I don't think silicone caulk would be very effective. Maybe just put some sheet metal screws back in, with a rubber washer between the screw head and the roof? Ideas?
