Hood Insulation

Just picked up a 2024 expedition limited and opened the hood for the first time. Is the Limited supposed to come with an insulation blanket (black felt’ish material on the underside?

Stock photos I find online have the insulated blanket, but it may be a platinum or king ranch and limited does not come with it.

If anyone with a limited wants to lift their hood and check, I would appreciate it!

Ford stopped installing the hood insulation at the factory on purpose

You may be able to order / buy a hood insulation pad and fasteners from a prior year 4th generation and install it yourself?

now I need to look and confirm my 2019 Limited Stealth has a hood pad. I think it does. I know my wife's 2016 Mercedes E350 wagon has one, that car is so quiet you can barely tell the engine is running. Also the engine is still fully warmed up hours after it was parked if its not freezing cold outside.

edit: Yes, my 2019 Limited Stealth definitely has a hood pad.

They stopped installing the hood insulation pads and engines covers on post Covid manufactured expys to save money and stilll charge the same msrp to the customer

+1 on my '19 Limited Stealth also is complete with hood insulation and engine cover

Cost reduction, Everyone assumes. They prolly looked at parts and found no reason to continue to provide these.
