This poor thing has been sitting at a local parking lot for the last couple days, luckily it's not mine. My wild guess is that the lower ball joint gave out, taking a tie rod with it on the way. What do you think? I almost want to go help the poor girl out.
Notice the wheels pointing towards each other. KaChow!

Body of the driver stashed in the back. Tire slashed to keep attention off the stationary vehicle for a few days.

Both wheels are pointed inward. My thought is that the suspension gave out, and the tire wasn’t happy about that

Haha, I hadn’t even gone there! I wonder if the rear license plate was removed too

The owner of the parking lot or you can call the police and have the plate run to see if stolen etc. And you could put a note on it ... will make you an offer you cannot refuse!! Ha ha! Seems to be just something let loose in the front end, probably easy fix for diy but expensive at a dealer. Probably lower ball joint. Can bolt in a new control arm fairly easily but time consuming. The aluminum arm and steel ball joint can be difficult to press out.

It's a local YMCA lot, I'm sure they're on top of it. I'll try to go that route on the way home and see if it's still there, just for my curiosity.
Unfortunately I know about bolting in a new wheel knuckle.. I destroyed the knuckle on my mother in laws expedition trying to get it separated from the lower control arm earlier this year when replacing lowers and uppers...

I had a left ball joint pop on my '09 while backing out of a gravel driveway. The fender dropped down to the wheel. This doesn't look to be the case.

It looks more like some damage my son did to one of my cars. He hit a curb while turning (unknown speed) and broke a tie rod and damaged the tire.

That makes sense now that you say it, ball joint popping out would've dropped the truck down low.

Tire and tie rod destroyed, rim probably bent hard, possibly also a control arm or two

Happens when you make an unlucky glancing blow on a curb protrusion at speed, and the entire force is applied to one small point of contact on the rim
