How do you know if you have the good heads?

I have an '08 and was wondering how you tell if you have the re-designed heads? I know that you can look at the boot and tell if its brown or black but mine just looks like a dirty brownish black. So I am assuming that it was originally black. Can you tell any other way?

Look for the build date on drives side valve cover or check the sticker on the door jamb. If built after November 07 you should be OK.

Mine is 09/06. Must have been one of the first ELs.

116k and no issues so far!

U can look at ur coil boots, brown is new design for plugs and ur good, black boot is old design!
