What about an electric fan? Does it really help mpg?

yes. all the basic mods ive seen add mpg and hp. cai or gotts mod, exhaust, efans, programmer, lighting the weight, no heavy foot, keeping everything clean and newish, ie tires, spark plugs, throttle body, fuel filter, oil. from what i have seen and wish to believe the BEST a 1st gen has gotten regularly was 18.5mpg. and he has done all those mods/up keep.

Around town I average about 14 to 16. I live in Jax Fl and I drive to Galliano La for work every 2 weeks and I get between 18 to 19 at 75mph on the hwy. 2WD 4.6.

Sv: How much gas your Expedition use?

2007 eddie bauer:
- average 18 (not so much city...)
- Highway 20 (keeping the speed limits!!)
I drive with a light foot on the pedal :) no extra cargo.
Just want to check how god mileage you can get... i suppose that driving in snow with spiked winter tires and 4w will give other numbers when the winter comes again.

After doing the Gotts mod (rest of the truck is stock, other than a K&N), we drove 100 highway miles (70+ mph) and all weekend going back and forth to baseball games (city driving), I averaged 15 mpg. Thrilled with that.

Our Expedition is just our weekend people hauler and my modern day musclecar (guzzler), and for that purpose, I have no problem with 12-15mpg.

If I had to drive this beast daily and feed the fuel tank ... that would be an unacceptable dent in the budget.

My all stock - no mods 2000 5.4 AWD EB 3.73 gears and 126,000 miles does not go past too many gas pumps without stopping. Overhead shows 11.3 around town, about 14.6 on the highway if I am on my best behavior - but there is no better way to roll!

Just did a 500 mile round trip, 400 highway, 100 city, and several times stomping on it to hear the whine... 15.5 mpg. I measured strictlyhighway on (2) 70 mile trips, and got 19mpg. 100% city driving yields 10-12mpg depending on how heavy the foot is.

I have A 2001 4.6 gets terrible city mpg. The worst I have got is 6 (Usually about 9-12) But i get 22mpg highway. 3.73 gears help too.

Mine is the AWD, you'll have to report back if your mods boost your numbers, I may want to go that route as well, any help in mpg would be cool
