Are the colored LED interior lighting supposed to stay on at night while driving? Is there a switch that controls that lighting?

It's called Ambient Lighting. It is controlled in the vehicle menu settings.

To my knowledge, no. It is on when you enter, drive and switch it off. You can adjust the color and brightness in settings.

At one point Color was only available in higher trim, but pretty sure they phased it out of Platinums also.

I can confirm color changing feature is not available.

Yeah. No color in mine either. Bummer. If I had known of this earlier, I could have considered a different make (JK). My '17 Limited had the color change and it was kinda cool to have and it entertained many passengers. But with color-changing LEDs so common now, why not? Silly.

My 2019 has color and brightness. I think I have 6 or 7 colors to choose from.

Ambient lighting is accessed from the "Settings" tile. You will have to scroll your tiles to the left to see all of them.

About ambient lighting from the 2019 Expedition manual:
"Tap a color once to activate ambient lighting.
This sets the color to the highest intensity.
You can drag the colors up and down to
increase or decrease the intensity.
To switch ambient lighting off, press the
active color once or drag the active color
all the way down to zero intensity."

If you go into the settings, it has a toggle that turns it on and off. If left in the on position, it will stay on at night. A light blue color. In my 2016 F150 Platinum, you could change the color of the ambient light, too. But not so in the new Expeditions.
