Hello everyone. I recently bought a 2001 Expedition and have been reading the forum for a week or so. I’ll have questions but first I thought I post a hello. I’ve never owned an Expedition before and to be honest never imagined I would. For whatever reason, I never thought of them as being very good trucks. I guess I thought of them as Fords “answer” to the Tahoe/Suburban, without making them very unique or interesting. And for some reason, they never looked all that capable or “tough” to me. I had never even ridden in one until I bought this one. Well, I can eat my words now because this is one of the best, most comfortable vehicle’s I’ve owned. It’s a fantastic truck. And I’ve owned many, many vehicles over the 35 years I’ve been driving. Even being as “old” as this one is, it handles and rides extremely comfortably. It also gives the sensation of it being very capable of running off-road and hauling stuff with no problem. I bought it as a second vehicle but am driving it everyday. It has the 5.4 L motor and has good power also. All around a great find.

Thanks in advance for all the question’s I’ll ask.

Thanks

This is the only pic I have so far. Why does it have a white grill? I don't see any others with one. Something a previous owner did? Or was it part of a package or something?

It appears they painted the chrome with white paint. The white on the bumper should be a chrome piece as well. They could have replaced the grille or just painted it.

Thanks for all the replies. I was wondering about a package and you answered my question. Like FordandPolaris said, a buddy thought it had been painted somewhere along the way. It looks factory up close though and that's what had me wanting more info. I really like the look. Monochromatic. It's missing the step bars. The bolts are still there.
Thanks.
