Does anyone make a app for an engine tuner, diagnostic check or performance enhancer for the iPod, iPhone or Android? Seems like a logical thing to do. I did find this: http://www.ot-2.com/ or this one; http://www.palmerperformance.com/products/dashcommand/index.php but it looks like it just tells you things you already know. I think it would be pretty cool if you could hook up an iPod and have it do the same thing an Edge CTS programmer does. Or does this sound like a bad idea?

I just emailed superchips to see if it will work on a 99' Expedition. When I get a reply I'll let you know what they say. I think it comes out in November. I've used the Archos before and it's a French company (yikes!!) the screen is brilliant and super clear hand has high definition. But the touch screen portion is not as good as an apple product. The apple product works flawlessly with the touch screen. With the Archos you have to kind of push down on the screen and it is not as smooth. -Hunter

I just contacted Superchips and they said the Vivid would fit my 99' Expedition 5.4L. The customer service rep said the part number is: 518650 price is $692.48 that includes the Archos device and the cable that connects to the truck. Now the question is, who is going to buy it and tell me if it works :) $692.48 seems like a lot of money. Any opinions on this?

That's because it uses the older resistive touch screen technology as opposed to the newer capacitive touch screens you find in more expensive phones and tablets. Resistive screens require a bit more pressure to use and don't support multi-touch.

The tablet itself seems to go for $180 on Amazon and doesn't have bad reviews, but i wouldn't buy it as a stand-alone tablet. You can get the Kindle Fire with a 7'' capacitive screen and 2-core processor for $20 more.

I would however buy it as part of the Superchips VIVID if the price for the whole package were around $400. At that price I think it would be worth buying this rather than a regular tuner that you can't use for anything else (GPS, browsing, music, etc).

Another member found this one. The download is free on your appstore using ipad, iphone or ipod and all I think you need to buy is the wireless OBD-II. I downloaded the program on my iPhone but i need to find the wireless bluetooth port. They have a link on thier website. I might try this one out. Here is the link: http://sct-itsx.com/

Looks like it's $469.00 http://www.flashtuner.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SCT-iTSX-4015
