How can I connect an Ipod to me 2010 Expedition and hear the music as well as charge the Ipod?

Do I simply plug the Ipod into the audio jack in the center console??? I have the basic OEM stereo with one disc CD player.

Or so I have to buy some type of adapter so the Ipod will charge and play?

Can someone tell me how to do this please and what parts I need???

Will the new Ipod Shuffle work in this case?

Thanks everyone!

if it wasnt an option you may have to buy an adapter...check out crutchfield.com to get brands and part numbers then search on ebay...

depending on your generation ipod it may or may not charge it...1st make sure the ipod charging option is on in your settings...i think it only charges
1st-3rd gen ipods...if you have any of the newer ipods (i have the nano before the square nanos) it will not charge...FIX: buy Scoche charging adapter...i paid $16 on ebay...free shipping in August...plug it into your ipod (works with touch too) then plug you cable into the adapter...charges everytime without probs...
