Just bought an 01 EB and have a couple Q's - Now with Pics
I just bought a high mileage 2001 (201K) EB 4x4 that "runs rough and has a miss at idle". I test drove it and it was as described. On the way home from the seller, it threw a CEL for misfire on #3. Pulled over, wiggled the coil and reset the CEL. The miss went 99% away and it drives great. I ordered new coils and will install them this weekend along with plugs and hopefully that issue will be solved. Now for the questions.
The truck has coils in the rear. I thought all the EB versions of these had air suspension. According to the Ford ETIS site, it has "standard suspension". So even if someone did a coil conversion, no biggie, however, there are no coils up front. All of the conversion kits I see show a coil over/strut going in up front and mine just has shocks. What is the consensus on running these with just the torsion bars and shocks? Isn't that how the non air susp trucks came from the factory? It feels a bit soft to me, so before I replace the shocks, I need to figure out what I want.
Where would the factory suspension compressor have been mounted?
Next, the driver's side seat heater is inop. The light does not come on when the button is depressed. I stuck my head under there real quick and noticed that one of the plugs is in fact unplugged, but couldn't readily see where it went. What does the heated seat module look like exactly and where is it mounted?
Thanks guys.
