On my "new" '03 Eddie Bauer, I have the factory DVD and 6 disc changer. I would like to see what options I may have for getting my truck equipped with Bluetooth, Satellite,Nav, and iPhone/iPod connectivity....all while maintaining the factory DVD player and all the steering wheel controls.

IS there a head unit that may be good for this? I would have someone install it for me, but trying to scope it out online (doing my homework).

Id like everything to be in the dash...no FM transmitters or anything like that.

It seems like that when the DVD has to be part of the install, it becomes more difficult to do things...

If you have a ball park $$ as to what this *could* cost, that would be awesome.

Thanks!!

i have pioneer AVIC D3...bluetooth/nav/ipod/dvd player...not sure why you want to retain the disc player if you have an ipod...when you say satellite are you referring to XM or Sirius? my pioneer is XM or Sirius ready...just buy the plan and good to go...dont use it cuz i dont listen to radio...dont use the cd function cuz i have my ipod hook up...64gb itouch...only half way full with 2700 songs...very pleased with it....

so the sky is the limit just depends on how much you want to spend on a HU...DUALs are on the cheaper end starting at $400 i think...then up to $2000 or close to it if you do a kenwood excelon...try crutchfield.com see what they list then search the internet for cheaper deal...

Thanks for the information.

I just want to make sure the Factory DVD remains in-tact for the kids in the back :)

So if I find the right harness, I can just install a AVIC D3 and all will work just fine?? I would guess the factory DVD unit will run off the Aux on the AVIC.

The 400-500 price range sounds good to me right now.

then you may need to talk to an audio shop...someone on here may chime in if they've done it...i cant recall...im sure someone will lead you in the right direction...if you order from crutchfield...they give all the hardware i.e. harness for free plus lifetime support as long as you own the item...i got minein 2007...i can call them right now if i have a question and they'll help me...if the dvd player goes to an input...should work...mine is hook up to a 12 inch dvd monitor...so i can play whats in the HU to the monitor and play whats on the monitor to the HU...

I have a Kenwood double din nav unit with Bluetooth and the Mic is great. You might have to play with the settings to get it good. Mic location is also important. Mine is located on the edge of the headliner near the rear view mirror.

The pioneer I had before sucked donkey nuts. No one could hear me on it, no matter what I did or where I placed it.
