Hey guys,

I purchased the Monroe 90010 conversion kit and had it installed a few days ago. Truck drives great. Just a few thoughts? Is the back end now supposed to be sitting up a bit higher then the front. I have an 1998 Eddie Bauer 4x4 and did all 4 sides. Just seems it is on a bit of a slant, the back maybe an inch or so higher, just wondering if that is supposed to be the case?

Also when you are alll done with the install do you need to keep off the air switch under the passenger side dash? I removed the dash light but was wondering if that is all that needs to be done? Thanks again.

All are set up to be higher in the rear unless you pic and choose your spring height or spacers, I think you are in the right about the switch but others should chime in.

Only reason I was asking is I read something about leaving it on for the steering??? Not sure if this is correct?

So no way at this point to level it out without replacing springs?

Thanks.

thats rite but they arnt very expensive, but u being a 4x4 i would just raise the front to match the rear, I think you can just get new torsion bar keys and they arnt much, check on ebay

You might want to wait a week or two and see if the back comes down a little. Sometimes new springs need to settle in. Especially in the rear where they are designed to hold more weight at times.

Also anyone heard anything about leaving the air switch on, something to do with the steering? Also how will the rear end sitting up higher effect the ride? Also if the rear does not drop and level out, how would I raise the front to equal it out? Thanks again.

I do not know the answer to the air ride, i don't think it has anything to do with steering, but could be completely off. As for raising the front, find the torsion keys at the back of the torsion bars. Crank the bolts a couple of turns, and that will force the front to sit higher. Just be sure to keep turns equal on either side so as to avoid a lopsided look side to side.

I have the same kit, the back end wont settle a whole lot, you will still rake, but I wanted that for towing. Yes you are supposed to keep the air suspension switch on because your steering system (evo) is tied into the air ride suspension. The faster you go the stiffer the wheel is to turn.

Thanks for the info. I will check when I get home tonight to make sure it was left on. The compressor will not run with the switch on?

Thanks.
