Hi I'm new to the forum. I just purchased a 2005 Eddie Bauer Edition 4WD. as far as I can tell it's loaded. Two troubling issues that I'm having is that the A/C does not come up through the seats and the rear A/C fan comes on but no air blows through the vents in the headliner.

Also is there any way to get a print out of the window sticker for my vehicle? I'd love to know exactly what accessories it has on it. I think I figured out many of them but I can't tell if it has the power folding mirrors - if it does, it doesn't work.

It has 119,000 miles on it and it drives like new. It also has Air suspension and traction control.

Thanks,

Andy

Welcome. It sounds as if your blend door for the rear air isn't working. Many posts on here regarding that, and even a "how to" to fix it if you look for it.
When you turn on your AC seats, can you hear a fan come on under the seat?

As far as the window sticker, if you know the originating dealer, you can usually get them to get a copy of the window sticker for you.

That looks exactly like my expy.

I was lucky, my sticker was folded up in my owners manual.
If you have power fold mirrors, it will say on the power mirror stem. Mine doesn't have it. Wish it did.

If you will do a search for VIN decoding on this site it has a link to Ford to enter your information. I think the link and website is called FORDEtis. Let me know if this does not work by PM and I will get my laptop. My tablet does not have it stored.
Oh yeah, you really have to listen for the fan under the seat sometimes but should be able to feel it vibrating. I also think their is a changeable filter on it or am I getting my cars mixed up?

I found the site and I was able to enter the VIN. Great site! Thank you.

The owner's manual says there is a filter in the front seats. I have to see if I can spot them. I have not heard a fan but I will listen carefully to see if I can hear it.

Another problem I have is that the (Automatic) AC doesn't get very cold even with recirculation button pushed and the fan never slows down - the dealer has agreed to check and charge the AC so I'm hoping that once it gets cold enough the fan will work as expected. If not that will be another thing I will have to work on.

You are welcome. I cannot hear the driver's fan but can hear the pass side fan. On my 03 I never heard them at all.
I do not know if the Expedition is this way but on some ac units the light will stay illuminated to show a fault or low charge. Hope the ac charge works for you. Also if you have not tried it, recycle all of the buttons and change temps to limits just in case something is sticking. If none of this works including the ac charge the blend door as previously mentioned is the most likely culprit as it could allow ac air to mix with outside air after cooling.

An after thought on what you said earlier. You cannot actually feel the air coming thru the seats, at least I have not in ten years, they just get cold as ice even at over 100 outside.

The driver's seat doesn't change temperature at all in the ac mode.

That is a good suggestion and I will put it through it's paces to see if frees up anything. Is there a how to replace the blend door motor for the front AC that you are aware of?

Thanks again,

Andy

Oh yes there is. It seems to be a common weakness for a lot of Expy's. Do a search on here for it under "blend door" or similar. There are some other problems relatively minor though annoying with motors for rear air ducts it seems as well. I have been real lucky it seems over ten years.

Okay, good news on the rear AC. It works. I found a round push button on both the upper console and the back of the center console that switches between upper and lower vents. It worked and so did switching from heat to cool so it looks like I'm in good shape for now on those items.

Now I have to start looking into the Seat AC and heat, for both front seats. The buttons light up when pressed but nothing happens. My wife gets hot flashes so I'm sure she'll appreciate them working. :dogpile:
