Constantly keep getting surprised by how well my big girl does on trips. Outside of how smooth she rides, she so stingy at times. I guess the engine has officially broken in. Has anyone been getting these numbers? Critics who criticize the mileage need broken in models obviously. These pics were taken after we arrived at myrtle beach from dover, de. Ran into traffic on the bay bridge and dc but it smoothed out some in souther va. Avg about 70 down. On the way back followed my dad and his escalade. Surprised to see his truck does better mpgs at higher speeds as we avg 75(78 for a large leg of travel) and when we stopped to take a restroom break, his computer showed higher dte with higher gas capacity. I guess thats where the bigger tank comes into play. Still avgd 23 to 24 at 75+ but 70mph is the sweet spot though.

That's awesome mileage! That beats my V8 Genesis, which is 1500 pounds lighter. Do you run in ECO mode? Also is yours 2WD or 4WD?

Its 2wd and i do run highway miles on eco. Its rated at 24mpg hwy so anything meeting or exceeding that on avg is amazing to me. Blows away my 09 nav. I wish they kept the same size tanks as the older model, thats well over 700mi range with a 28+ sized tank

Our lifetime average keeps getting worse. Down to 12-something at last check. Mostly because we keep putting more and more miles on it with the trailer attached.

That's very impressive. What MPG did you dad's Escalade get compared to your Expy, apples to apples. In other words when you were getting 26MPG what did he get and when you were getting 24MPG what did he get?

I always hear about how the GM trucks do so much better with gas mileage than the 2018 Expy. I know the Esky has the 6.2 and drinks more gas than the GM 5.3...but my friend with a 2018 Suburban consistently gets an impressive 24 MPG on the highway going 75.

We went to the beach at diff times, From what my dad said his computer showed 19 mpg avg for that trip but he filled up that trip, i didnt. When we left my truck showed 570 mte his truck showed 475(my mte went down due to us using my truck around town), but when we stopped the first time, approx 180 mi away my computer showed 375 and his showed 430. At that point we were travelling considerably faster than i was on my way to the beach(80 vs 70). We stopped again 100 mi later and we were both at hlf a tank. I surmised that his truck does a bit better at higher speeds but mines is better at lower speeds. Also his tank is bigger so that explains the range difference
