I just purchased a 2011 Expedition XLT. It only had one key/fob combo. No other keys at all. What do I need to do to get a regular key and another one of the key/fob combos?

Unfortunatly you will have to go to the dealer ( or a specialty locksmith ) to program a new key / fob for you. Once you have two keys you can program more yourself.

go to dealership to get another key made...should run no more than $80...fob and fob programming will be more so if you dont have to have it go without...

once u get the 2nd key...buy another key with transponder in it from ebay or locksmith and get it cut then follow manual instructions to program 3rd key...

you should be able to get a fob from ebay as well...not sure how the programming will work...i'd go aftermarket alarm/remote start

Ok, so my first step is to buy a regular key (no fob) from the dealer. Then I can program other FOB's myself? When I purchase the key/fob combo, can a regular key maker cut that one? Forgive my ignorance (first late model Ford).

If I am not mistaken, you cannot program youself until you have two. Then you can have up to 9 (I believe). The second key and second fob will need to be programmed at the dealer.

There's a place near my house called e keys for cars, all of the dealers in my area go there to sub out the customer work. 2-3 of them walked in while I was getting a new ignition and key FOB made.

There may be a place like this in your area. My ignition went on my Jeep on a Saturday morning, so tried these guys out in a pinch. Hope this helps you out.
