I did the same. Cheap, easy to do and it makes such a big difference. I have replaced the OEM incandescent bulbs in all our new cars for the last 10+ years.

I did get better back up LEDs. Will post them soon.

What brand did you with? I tried a set from Amazon that had decent reviews, and they were CRAP. I swear light output was less!

Where! I know Nevada shot a link... but are they the same??

Dome & plate (used 6 out of 10), seems like they'd also fit backup lights if needed but I got different ones for backups:

Amazon search:

JDM ASTAR 10pcs Super Bright 194 168 175 2825 T10 PX Chipsets LED Bulbs,Xenon White

$12.99 / 10 pieces

Tried posting a link but it's not working.

PS gonna need nylon prybar to get at interior lights, push fastener puller & new push fastener to do plate lights

Projector bulbs are bad for Expy backup lights imho....your lamps sit too high, doesn't point in right direction

Adieu, thanks for you "opinion". Moot point though since there should be no one behind me when I back up. Remember, there is a huge land out there beyond SoCal that is somewhat rural. Long driveways, no street lighting and a very big need for good back up lighting.

This forum is all about giving individual opinions, so thank you, but please realize there is a big difference between an opinion and a value judgment.

Most people upgrade backup lights for SAFETY...

Hence, projectors not pointing at where you're reversing....kinda, point-less?

Also, I assume you still have things forgotten in driveways, mail, cats, kids, raccoons, and other assorted stuff laying about....even in the boonies

BTW, here in the "metropolitan" burbs, we say IMHO to denote a personal opinion

Huh? Safety? Projectors not pointing to where reversing? Huh? They are pointed backwards, where I would be reversing.

If you had projectors, maybe you would have seen your Uber car, no?

It's funny but the idea is to light up what's behind you. Who says that you have to light the ground below the bumper? I'm looking out a lot farther behind my truck when I back up, than the back bumper. Damned kids think they know everything. :)

Seems to be going around lately with our younger generation. The snowflake crowd will melt away quickly.

Sorry Guys. To Each his own, but from the initial pictures at the beginning of the thread the LED interior lights are way too bright and harsh for me. I take a long trip for vacation each year in my 2011 and drive all night. Man, those would blind me turning them on after driving in the dark for a while. And opening the door at night at a rest stop, with all interiors coming on at once, would probably knock me down. Ha Ha. I know, I am old school.

PS - Beautiful White Expedition - Expeditionandy. I have the same white with the gold panels below. I love the white on these trucks.

Please understand that the bright lights are ONLY for the back-up reverse lights. They only illuminate when the vehicle is in reverse and no other time. These are NOT the tail lights or running lights.

I was speaking to the pictures on page 1 showing interior LEDs. My comments were not meant for anything exterior.

Thanks, on second read I did see that. Sorry for the miscue. I can understand anyone thinking the LED interior lights would be too bright, but I have done this replacement to my last 3 vehicles and believe it is a big upgrade over the dimmer, amber-colored incandescents. You are correct in to each his own.

Also thats a bad phone pic w/ all lights on... btw notice the reflective safety vest on the driver's seat? Its not giving off any deadly glare or anything

These things ARE bright, but not blindingly so. Also, white = stupendously bright is a trick your mind plays on you, based on the color temperature being hotter than any natural source of light
