LOC For 2000 expo

I have a 2000 expo EB, and I want to add a 12inch sub/amp to it with the factory deck. I know I need a Line-Out Convertor to do this, but has anyone else done this with there expo, and if so, do you know where you spliced into the factory system? I would have posted this in the audio forum, but it looks DEAD and I wanted to place this where it would be read.

It's a waste of time... If you are going to get a sub and an amp, you might as well drop a couple extra bucks and get a decent deck and fuzzy dice. You can improve the audio quality with just a different deck than the stock one. Alpine and Pioneer are decent.

Eddie Bauer expys have a stock sub in the rear if that helps. Not a sound system guy.

Ya i just upgraded my system. I ended up getting a sweet alpine deck brand new from best buy for like 90 bucks. so deals are out there, and it's totally worth it so you can get the better sound quality as well. The ipod cable is a must too!

Although one need creates another lol I now have to buy all new door speakers as the aftermarket deck is to powerful and i might blow my stock speakers if i turn it up to loud. oh well...it was an upgrade i knew i needed anyway.

also you might want to watch out for are install specials at places like best buy or circuit city....you can get a pretty good deal if you buy the whole package from them and you wont have to hassle with running wires and finding that horrible spot on the firewall either!

^ That link has a chart with color coding of the wiring for the stereo--it does not have the wiring for EB or the MACH audio system, though. I'd recommend getting a Haynes Manual or something similar to get a better wiring diagram. Generally, it is recomended to tap into either of the rear speaker wires for the LOC. Since the EB has a factory sub, though, you might want to tap into that instead. I'm not 100% sure, however. Hope that helps a little bit. My 2003 Expy had a rubber stopper on the firewall already so I used that.

^^^As did my 2000 XLT. It's on the firewall on the driver's side, high under the dash.
