Replaced my lug nuts on my 14 Limited. OMG! what freakin engineer thought of this. Has to chisel some off and when they were off I couldn't break loose the wheels! Took me 2 hours just to change lug nuts

Geez. I have a first generation, 2001 Expy , and zero problems with the OEM lug nuts. I guess I am keeping it. I don't need to have problems with swollen lug nuts or an Expy del Fuego event. Nope no junk.

I needed a quick oil change and tire rotation before an unscheduled long business trip so I rolled into the local Jiffy (or something) Lube. Oil change fine but they couldn't get the wheels off and were kicking and wiggling them enough to shake the Expedition. They has all five lug nuts off each wheel and no wheel would come off...

I swapped all of mine for new 21mm for this exact reason. When I did the brakes a few weeks ago, I had to use a 22 for some of the lugs. All I could think of was getting a flat and having a rounded lug, or not having the right socket. Cheap insurance.

I put some new lug nuts on mine the other day when I swapped wheels after the ready lift and struts. No problemo.
Sounds like whoever gets the wheels off needs to put a super thin layer of antiseize on the hat of the rotor where the wheel comes in contact when it's on. That will keep it from sticking next time. I had an F150 come into my bay one time for a brake job. Had one absolute hell of a time getting the fronts off the rotor. Beat on the tire with a 12 pound sledge...nothing. Ended ou taking a piece of 4x4 block and having a guy hold it on the wheel while I gave 'er some good hits. Every 3rd hit, he'd rotate the tire/wheel and finally we got 'em worked off.
I left a note with the shop foreman to have the customer talk to me before he left, and I asked him if he'd ever had the wheels off. Said no, never had.
Aluminum wheels are pretty notorious for sticking to cast iron...something about the two different metals.

There are six (6) lug nuts per wheel on the Expedition which is why all of the wheels were stuck on the hubs.

Going by your first post, according to sentence structure, one was made to think that you had a 1st gen, those do have 5 lug wheels.
Once again, this forum saved my bacon. While taking one tire to the rim repair shop, I realized the stock lug wrench did not fit the lug nuts. Fortunately, I was just at home and not in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire.
Upon researching the issue here, I realized the problem -- which I gotta be honest, never heard of swollen lug nuts before. I ordered some Gorilla one-piece lug nuts Part number 61148CX (bulk) and they fit like a glove. Thanks Forum!!

It is never fun when your nuts get swollen...(i might add that on a personal level, after the snip, swelling = pain. Choose wisely.
The other nuts...yeah, I still can't speak too highly of the Gorilla stuff. I'm also planning to order a set for my Mustangs when for when they're ready to roll (soon)..
