OK I may have exaggerated a bit. This past week I noticed I now only have high speed on a/c. From looking through the service manual it appears it may be the resistors that control fan speed. Anyone replace these? Are they located on the fan, switch or somewhere in between?

Toms89, find the blower motor and you will find the resistor block right next to it. if I remember right, if you look in the passenger footwell area, you will see the resistor there.

Replaced it today.. old one was very rusty inside (condensation??) and one of the terminals had burned up..damaging the connector in the process. So instead of a few minutes it took about 20.

On to the next big project...fixing the windshield washer reservoir low level sensor...

Man... I don't even know what AC is. I usually roll with the windows down and the radio cranked... I like to get a little more mileage and as much power out of my little 4.6, especially when going through the mountains...

on windows up or down or trucks have so much frontal area they say you get better mileage with windows down over ac on. small more aerodynamic cars or better off ac on vs windows down. As far as i have read and noticed with my own expy.

It never really bothers me anyway, here in Laramie, we only get a month or two of weather you would think about maybe using the AC, but its just the right temp with it off, I use my heater more than anything.
