Need to install a memory seat into my SSV. Memory seat has two power harnesses instead of one, and doesnt power up.

Anyone know which wires to tap into power on the second harness?

I dont need the memory function just for the seat to move. Ive heard it can be done by tapping just a power and a ground, but which wires?

Thx

Get the wiring diagrams for the donor vehicle and the vehicle they will go in. As long as they are not using digital signals (pwm) to run the motors it will be fairly easy to wire up.

What you've heard isn't 100% accurate - yes you need power and ground but you also need to reverse the polarity to change direction. That is why you need to know if it is pwm or just straight wired. I would expect pwm from the seat controller.

I went ahead and spliced the switches into the motors as advised elsewhere.... didnt help.

Seems I still need power and ground?

The two wires left from the green plug that seems to be the memory modules "output" are brown and white-orange....

If he isn't careful he will get an upclose and personal, front row seat to an airbag detonation if they are equiped with them.

But how many to each motor? If it is 2 then it is a regular motor, more than three it is probably a stepper motor.

You have to cut the wires at the memory seat controller. You will loose the memory seat function. This is because the controller talks to a part of your truck that the SSV doesnt have.

Took me about an hour to do.

OK, finally got home and took the seat out to take some pictures.

The second harness in the seat connector is the one you have to splice to get power to the seat.
I've also taken a picture of the splices I did with a terminal strip to connect the motors to the seat switches. You will have power seats, just no memory since the SSV BCM doesn't have the options/wiring for the memory function.

When you cut the seat/motor switches in the driver's seat module connect them like the excel file below says and looks like in the terminal strip. Then connect power to the white second large connector (right next to the square large square connector(black) that goes to the exped and you will have a working 10 way power driver's seat

Could you be more specific

Connect power to which pins, and where to splice it from an XLT

This was my problem, not the switches
