Can you post a picture of the fuse box

Your owners manual should show Two fuse boxes under the hood and one under the dash

see pages 136 thru 143 in the owners manual

Have no idea what they are for The shop service manuals do not show those relays

I take it your not the original owner.

Possible that it was something that the previous owner had installed or maybe a special use vehicle

Would be interesting to know what all those relays are for The Factory wiring diagrams do not show those relays nor does the owners manual

You may want to stop at a ford dealership and see what you can find out

I had a 1997 F150. A few years later I got a 99. Not sure how or why I remember such insignificant stuff, but I recall the fuse boxes under the hood being completely different, which was surprising since very little appeared to have changed appearance wise between the two trucks. Seems like one was a 2-piece and the other single.

So I looked at Google images and found a 1997 F150 picture with a second smaller box:

If thats a small piece of wire jumping fuse position #3, who knows what all electrical might have been done?

A F150 site suggests Ford did some mid-year changing and that might be your trailer wiring related:

OK I'm thinking back. I leased each of these trucks, one replaced the other, and I installed my own tow bar and wiring. So ran into this because the owners manual was printed wrong due to some mid-year change. That is the trailer 7 way and 4 prong wiring relay box. Take the relays out and you'll find your connectors dead at the hitch.

Can't remember my anniversary date most of the time, forget that certain relatives are long dead, but I can remember having trouble on a truck I leased 20 years ago. Its pretty cool being a guy.
