Very frustrating when I have stuff apart and I find I need something. My only choice here is AdvanceAuto, which has a policy in this area of selling only the cheapest junk. Here, the only people who work on cars are Illegals, and they just want the cheapest stuff. So too often I wrap it back up and order what I need. Nothing like taking it apart twice for one job.
Oh please, this is just about every American, which is why the mainstream products in almost every category are junk. Most people aren't buying their outdoor gear at REI; they're buying it at Walmart or Dick's. They're not buying Snap-On tools; they're buying Black & Decker. How many people are spending $80 on a set of 100% copper jumper cables? No, they're spending $20 on CCA. I closed up shop on my enthusiast computer business years ago because there was no market for it anymore. People wanted a $299 piece from Dell, not a high end custom built rig.
Look at the posts here and you'll find plenty of that same mentality. I haven't seen any posts about installation of a Rigid or Black Oak light bar, but I've seen plenty about generic Chinese light bars from eBay. There are plenty of posts about people adding HIDs by way of the cheap plug-and-play garbage, but there's only guy that regularly posts here about spending the extra money and doing a proper retrofit. Heck, I've even seen people cheap out on window tint, which isn't expensive to begin with. So many people complain about how it's the fault of the Chinese, Mexicans [fill in bigot's other scapegoat here], etc., but the reason why most of this stuff being sold in the US is cheap junk is because Americans primarily only buy cheap junk. The average American consumer isn't comparing apples to apples, they're just looking at the 2 price tags and buying the cheaper one.
