I used all Moog parts when I did my 99 and found the parts from a supplier from Calif on e-bay Parts were much cheaper than prices from advanced auto. If they were needed then you should replace.

For example Upper control arm from Advanced Auto $89.99 + sales tax From Auto parts Express on e-bay $55.91 +free shipping and no sales tax. = a savings of over $34.00

I guess that it's another one of those 'may as well' situations. If you're doing everything else.... you may as well do the a-arms.

I'm in the same boat. Been having a clunk everytime I start from a dead stop, and the dealer checked it out when I was there for an oil change and said the lower Ball Joints were toast. I have 103K on my '06, so I just bit the bullet and am replacing both upper and lower control arms with MOOG just so I don't have to worry about anything for a while. I figured the bushings weren't going to last much longer either, so that's why I am getting the whole lower arm.

your RIGHT! i found moog upper arm for under $40 with balljoint free shipping on ebay. there different prices like $55 as well. wonder why advanced auto $89? gotta see....cause there are coupon sites like the one below that gives you 50% purchase if on line. i just like the FACT that if it needed replacement or faulty i can get replacement near/at a store.....yea! think i might gettem go all the way....lol was LOOKING AT a video on changing them which look easy. only thing i wont be able to replace myself will be lower balljoints then align it.

the thepartsmonster :buttkick:.......these moog products are in SOLID white boxs. not the blue and yellow like we know. box have labels from MOOG w/part number. then i found couple more $39.00. i called them as well.....this guy was more honest and said its from a secondary line when in the white boxes from moog. dont know what that means:thumbsdown:...but difference is $20. i can get them for $60 each w/advance auto discount..... there @ ebay for under $41.00 for sure by diff. sellers...... i would think and bet in white boxes the bushings are cheap/different then the ones in blue/yellow box....was going to order one and compare at store but to send that heavy thing back if it doesnt compare sucs.......what do u think? go with the $60 ones "in hand" no BS?

if you get a good price and they are moog then with the discount Advanced auto would be a good deal

I use to recommend Moog all the time but since they moved south of the border I have seen some quality issues arise... I go with xrf now when ever possible

Lower ball joints are just as easy as the upper control arms You would just need to get loaner tools from advanced or auto zone much cheaper than paying someone to do it for you

i would recommend MOOG or NAPA chassis parts but since it seems you've done your suspension already, i hope this can help anyone else looking to do their suspension. i've seen cut-outs of both and can tell you that both look to be very well built.
