And make sure to tell us if you have the 3.73 or the standard 3.31 rear axle...
3.31 4x4 Max with about 3,250 miles
I get a combined 15.3. I get around 20 on the freeway and about 14 in the city. Obviously I do more city driving than freeway. But either way I'm nowhere CLOSE to the EPA's suggested numbers. And I can't imagine "breaking it in" further will help enough to get me there.
But as I've said before, at no point in my purchasing decision did I think I was going to save money on gas. I had hoped to get a combined 17 as that would cancel out the added cost of premium over my previous truck which was a 2012 V8 4x4 F150 with a 3.73 rear end.
I got 450 out of a tank on a road trip this weekend. Keep in mind I have the larger 28 gallon tank as it's a Max.Coming from a 2007 Denali XL (3.42 FDR) with full time AWD and 6 speed AT , my highway average at 75 was 16, if I can get 21, that is a 31% improvement. Around town in the winter had to baby it to get perhaps 12. In recent years Denali went with selectable transfer case to help. MPG is not the concern for me, but more so range. My acid test is 500 miles + highway between gas stops
