My '11 Limited only got maybe 12.5 or so. The '17 Limited gets around 18. The MPG regulations put in place (but now rescinded) really worked!
We don’t need the govt telling us how much fuel to consume because after all we are buying it.
If you have done a tuneup and eliminated a poor running engine. Try installing a hotter thermostat. I did that to my 03 Expy and the mileage improved.
Driving habits are the same, car has less than 40,000 on it. If it was carbureted - - -
There is one major difference. The previous expeditions were driven at 7 to 9000 feet except when we took a trip. This one is in Southern Cal, at around 2000 at our home and lower when we hit the valley. But this is not a carbureted car and I would think the fuel injection should take care of that. And I need to pay $400 for a tune-up on a car with 40000 miles on it
.
But even though we are in Southern Cal, it's real and so the driving conditions are quite similar. No stop lights most of the time, several miles of open road before we hit any traffic at all. And the first three years were in Colorado, and the mileage sucked there, as well. But since it was my wife's, I did not notice until she mentioned it
Hotter = higher opening temp?
What temp did you go with?

Not necessarily true. Apparently, some people have a hard time figuring out which bathroom to use. Its not a stretch that these folks need to be told which car to drive.
Habbibie makes the most sense! I didn't even bother reading the last 10 posts. Depending on rims you have, alignment, two or four wheel, all the tune related crap, these heavy vehicles will be all over the map on mileage. Habbibie is the reining champ at around 7, I come in at 9-10 city, and one guy said his first edition got 20 in town, with the 5.4 and four wheel drive. Yeah right. Our gas prices are $4.00 and higher in San Francisco. Just drive it, enjoy it, cause Mr Donald will figure a way to screw things up even worse, look what he made Harley Davidson do. Building their Bikes in Asia, and laying off 250 workers here!
