It wouldnt be fair for me to compare the two since i had the 4.6. But i do have to say that the technology advancement has deff help the 2nd gen in the handling and ride quality! I now have a 5.4 3v with the 4r75e with 3.73 NLS and it will just GET IT! I like the smooth shifting of the 4r75!

hey MD got me through college.and $1.50 for monster on sale out here is $2.50 and monster is made here. whats the deal with that. And Sg i had a 97 5.4 4x2 and the 03 5.4 4x4. they both had really nice power. the 2nd gen has a nicer ride and a better turning radius. its also nice having the 3rd row fold down and stay in the truck unlike the 1st gen where if you had to transport large items you had to plan in advance and take out the 3rd row. but have to admit the bench in front row on 1st gen was nice. the center console gets in the way sometimes, but you can fill the console with a lot of crap
