Hello all. Glad to be back to the forum. Couldn't log on for the longest time.

Anyway. Just thought I would share some pics of my 98. It's not the best or the biggest, but I really like it!!

Here it was when I first bought it.

Torsion twist, and rear spacers for about 2 inches...

Some bigger meats and new rims, and this is how it sits today. First pic is front lifted only, next is after coil spacers installed.

looks good... im aiming for 6" suspension and 3" body but after seeing how clean yours came out ive been thinking otherwise... one question aside- how does it bahave on the highway with the torsions up? and is there any noticeable unever tire wear?

Handles exactly the same. The tires are still pretty new, but there is no uneven wear that I can see. Mind you, I didn't go have it realigned after the TT, which I probably should have.

I would still like to do the 3" Body lift someday as well. That's pretty much the same lift that I have on my Explorer in my avatar. 2 inch shackles and spacers and a 3 inch body lift. It's a great look.

not bad then. i like the clean look but i need more. greed is an addiction- or is it just financial planning to go BIG the first time? i would like to do a 6" overall combo between suspension, body and tire radius but due to past experiences with sqeaking body blocks on full size broncos im a little weary. it wasnt bad but more of a pain to have people look at you while going over a speedbump and think your monster is a an off-road lemon when it sounds like it cant take a 5" bump. have you had any problems with them on the explorer?

No, but the weight of an Explorer compared to that of an Expedition or Mid 80's Bronco is a huge difference. That is probably the reason I haven't done the BL yet.

When I was looking at lift options, the local 4x4 shops were actually advising against the BL due to the weight of an Expedition. But the price difference between a $300 body lift or a $1600 suspension lift is something to think about.

But my Explorer never had issues with squeaks or body roll. Just make sure you beef up your exhaust, and no one will hear the squeaks ;)

I had 4 Cherrybomb glasspacks on the Bronco- 2 on each side of a true dual exhaust- and besides, you cant floor it over speed bump. at least with the family in it. sometimes :p

Diggin the lift. Wish wife would go for that with some larger tires but definitely will never happen.

I've seen your Expedition in your Show and Tell thread, and I definatley think your truck looks great as is. Very classy.
Mine, on the other hand, was getting old so it needed something to make it interesting again. But thanks for the comment.

What size wheels/tires?
2" Torsion Twist and 2" spring spacers in the rear?
Where did you get the spacers and what brand?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm thinking about doing the same!

The rims are just 16x8 American Racing Baja's, I should have gone with 16 x 10's and the tires are just 265/75's. ( should have gone with 285's). i think that's why the 2 inch lift looks bigger, cuz with the smaller rims/ tires combo it gives a little more space in the wheel well.

The spacers are just the metal ones you can find on ebay when you search for "Expedition coil spacers" I think they were like $50 or something. They just look like metal hockey pucks from the side.
Hope this helps.

Lane 24 you avatar isnt showing up on the site, it has no pic but looks like a link to a pic. May want to fix it unless it was done on purpose. Like the torsion lift, did it on my old explorer years ago.

I hate to admit this, but I actually paid a mechanic to do it. I don't have a coil compressor, and the guy that has a muffler and alignment shop down the road from my house loves doing stuff like that, so I paid him to do it for me. It took him like just over half an hour to do it and he just charged me like $70 cdn or something. The spacers were $50 on ebay so pretty cheap lift...

Thanks man, haven't been around in a while. Noticed my avatar too. Just deleted it. Some of my other pics were missing too, so I added them back in.

How big of a tire can you clear with a 2 inch?

Mine are about the equivalent of a 32 inch tire, and there is a hella lot of room there. 33's for sure ( or whatever like a 285/75/16 or something) and to go up to a 305/75 or whatever is close to a 35 inch tire, I'm pretty sur the TT and spacers are going to need a 3 inch body lift to go along with it. But hopefully someone else will chime in.

I just find that sometimes a small lift looks bigger with a slightly shorter tire.. You know, like a little air between the rubber and the fender to give it that more lifted look? The less air there and your truck just looks kinda stock again. My Explorer had a 5 inch lift , but only 31's instead of 33's and it looked way bigger than my buddy's with the same lift and 33 inch tires...

Just my opinion.... But don't think I wouldn't stick 33's on in a heart beat. At the time I bought tires the 32's were just cheaper. And I'm cheap!!!
