My Expedition has its own e mail

Has anyone else gotten an e mail address for their Expedition? I have a 2026 Platinum and enjoyed the ability to use all of the digital conveniences without any phone connection. Ford calls this The Ford Digital Experience (AKA Ford Digital Connection). It has the built-in Android Automotive Operating System. The evolution of moving away from requiring your phone is nice.

To use the system, I logged into it using my gmail address. This is not my formal personal e mail address but it is hard to use the google services without one. I was completely enjoying myself until I gave someone a ride and all of my local connections were labeled on the map. "Who is that?...Who is that?" Wow, my whole digital life was on display!

Google has no limit to the number of e mail addresses you can use. I then made a new e mail address specifically for the Expedition. The formal e mail to control the new account is my personal e mail so it is not very confusing. What I then did was label Home Depot, Lowes, Restaurants, etc on the new google e mail account's google maps. Now when I drive around the only thing showing on the map are some points of interest.

Note Bene: I use the navigation for everywhere. Even going to the store, I put in the destination. That is because we have lots of speed traps and this way the notification of possible police activity ahead will be made.

Do realize that you may not wish to share your exact location and travel habits with the entire world.

When one uses Google Maps, whether, from phone or vehicle, all your destinations are saved and shared. You can opt out of sharing, but the destinations and all trips will be logged. You can always use Waze or another GPS mapping service to avoid Google from doing this. But I'm sure they all record, as the services are free, like Facebook, which also saves everything one does.

I'm a big Waze guy. Unfortunately, Google owns Waze and I expect they share data.
