my rear wiper no wipe.

Hey gang I have a 97 Expedition and my rear wiper dose not work, it got wet at one time and I am sure that I have blown a fuse but I have checked the ones that it is suppose to be with no luck. this also affected my front dome lite I would like for both of them to come back to life. Any suggestions on this?

How did you check the fuses??

It's a very common failure. I took my motor apart and cleaned it up. It helped for awhile. You can adjust where/how it comes down to the stopper- and that seems to work.

well I checked them visually and with an ohm meter. From what I am seeing the number 23 is slot is the one that I need to be checking dose that sound right?

Check fuse #12 under the hood Battery Junction Box
And also #14 under the dash Central Junction Box Fuse #14 is also for interior lights

Okay at the risk of sounding stupid I checked all my fuses under the dash and found the following fuses had no power at all. The following fuse slots that had no power are 9,16,17,18,20,21,27,28,29, so what is causing this?
All the fuses under the hood were good. I am sure that it is a relay or something of that nature. However as I am fairly electrically illiterate I could use some help. Thank you
Oh yea to follow up on rear wiper fuse was good will check the motor this week end thanks for that

some fuses are hot at all times and some fuses are only hot when the key is in the run sor start position

And some fuses like #18 will get power if you turn on the main light switch.
Just because a fuse doesn't have power going to it does not mean it is bad. Those are the fuses you then want to check with the ohm meter. If you had wiring diagrams for your expy you would see when certain fuse receive power due to the actions of other devices

Should have explained that it had been driven through a large amount of standing water to the point of the starter engaging with the key to the truck in my hand at that point several Christine remarks were made.

I had a short in my wiring and it caused mine to stop working. Fixed it then my subs rattled the bolt loose and the wiper arm came off. Who needs a rear wiper anyway. Lol
