truck seems to be running right, no miss or anything. my ? is where i can go to have it scanned. i read on here that auto zone does it 4 free but when called them they sed no they dont check them. ford wants 80 bucks just to hook it up and scan it. im in sacramento ca. its xmas day so ill have to wait till monday to call around. just scared im gunna hurt something drivein it.

yeah its a cali law that some places wont let you "borrow" their tools or something like that. you can always just buy your own. they arn't to expensive. just get a basic one. maybe $30. it could be a bad o2 sensor or something that went out that won't effect the engine roughness but the mpg.

If the light is on then you should be alright. If the light is FLASHING then you should limit the use of th vehicle and attend to it ASAP. Since your vehicle seems to be running fine, it most likely some part that has worn out and operating outside of set parameters.

pepboys ran it for me. didnt tell me a code just told me system runnin lean. i found a 90 degree rubber elbow hose the appears to have colapsted on itself. hoapefully that was it

What a crock of crap that they did not tell you what the code was, let us know what solves the issue, and a collapsed hose can cause your vehicle to run lean.

i replacer yhe hose then disconected the battery and turned onthe headlights to drain and reset the computer. reconected and drove it around. no cil light. i think that was it. at least i realy hope so. i knoticed alot of the rubber hoses seem to be rottin and guey? i wounder if the crap the used dealership sprayed on to make it shiney rotted the rubber.

I had to replace almost every rubber hose on my rig when I got it, it had 190,000 on it, the hoses just collapse over time and the rubber just degrades, they just don't make hoses like they use to.
