Need a taillight

Found I have a hole about 2" around in my left rear taillight. They are crazy expensive at the dealer. Wrecking yards have none. Anybody have a line on a dealer that is priced reasonable and will ship to FL? Honestly, I have bought cars in years gone by for what my local dealer wants to charge.

Another reason to add zero-deductible glass coverage. If you have it, check with your insurance company. Unless it's changed over the years, my zero-deductible glass coverage paid for a fog light damaged by road debris. And, with the cost of windshields and camera calibration, it is worth every penny of the cost.

Ebay is your friend. When my front left headlight got cracked by rocks, Ford wanted $800 and I was able to find one on Ebay without many broken tabs for $200. Took me over a month to find a right one.

I have glass coverage, used it often through the years. I wasn't aware it covered tail lights. I'll give them a call in the am.

Looked there and on the interchange it would seem that there isn't one. Seems that based on the vin# the 2021 is pretty much a stand alone. Given what I thought of as a crazy price from the dealer of over $1K list I can't see folks selling them for $200.00. There's gotta be more to this. I gotta do a deep dive on this puppy.

Talked to Ford and "they" say it is because the LED is part of the plastic.

List price on this item is, grab a chair. $ 1,083.33 plus tax!

I just checked with my insurance company (Amica) , they cover window glass only.

Looks like you've got a King Ranch Expedition. So that'll have every option know to man! LED lighting, BLIS system etc. That's why the tail lamp costs so much. These new vehicles have so much technology packed into them its crazy. I work for Ford and see the pricing on items like this every day

LED lighting notwithstanding, more than $1,000 for a tail lamp assembly is obscene.

I don't get it. Fords better idea?" I don't give a damn whether or not it is a conventional bulb or a friggin' candle. I can't see it from behind the steering wheel. Folks wonder why their auto insurance is going through the roof.
That # is the one I ordered. Beat the parts guy up and got it for that same price. Didn't want to go through the insurance.

On a 15 expy plat I had the drivers side mirror cleanly smashed off and the replacement was 950.

At least it was an easy DIY repair.

If you built a car from the ford parts department it would probably cost as much as a rolls royce.

Car thieves don't know what they're missing. They're chopping up Hondas and don't even realize all the Ford with $900 mirrors and taillights.

I would fab up a patch using a junk tail light from any old car.
Dremel tool, epoxy….. save a thousand dollars.
Heck install a blue dot lens in that location of the taillight, and then mirror image on the other rear taillight.
Bring back an old 40’s hot rod trend.

and no justification for it..
they just know they got you by the balls, and so they inflate the cost to drive up their profit margin.

Also a good reason to not design the parts too well—they want your wallet visiting the parts counter on a regular basis.

There is to much damage to the plastic. The cracks are all over the lens. By the time I was done patching it and epoxying it would look like ass. That isn't going to happen.
