Sorry wouldnt let me post in how to section. I have a 2001 expedition and the 7 pin trailer plug has a broken wire. Its on the exstension piece of the plug. The wire is just right outside the sealed plug. is there a way to remove the terminal piece out of the plug. Hard to explain. anyone know what im rambling about? thanks

Your best bet would be to simply cut off the old plug and pick up a new 7 pin plug. They are like $10. Then you can strip back the last few inches of the wiring into separate wires and reconnect them to the plug (stripping the last 1/2" of insulation from the wiring). This is going to be much easier than trying to fix any sort of other issue.

Of note though, 1 of the wires in the plug has power on it all the time. So, when you are cutting the plug off, cut 1 wire at a time and after cutting a wire, peel it back so you don't short circuit wires together.
