TexasAngel, if you go on ebay and search the model# of your radio, it should also show any relays and/or wiring needed to make it play dvd's while driving. Some radios you can just groud a certain wire, some need a little more "convincing".

I just installed my pioneer avh-3100dvd and all i had to do is use a simple toggle switch. one side of the switch is grounded and the other side is connected to the parking brake wire on the back of the unit. post what unit you have and i'll try and help you out the best i can. i've done dozen or so of these.

Ive seen around the net that alot of the avic units don't work by simply grounding out the parking brake. on my AVH-P4300 I had to buy a relay cause if it sensed that it was grounded out when you turned it on it wouldn't let you watch dvd's it needed to have a second between the unit turning on and the parking brake grounding

My Kenwood unit just needed the parking brake wire grounded too. Glad you figured it out for an easy fix.

Freeway, if you search YouTube for "Avic D3 bypass", you'll find several videos. I installed the 3200BT in my '01 last spring and used a YouTube video for the bypass using a relay. Took less than 5 minutes to do and it works great.

The Pioneer units need that split second delay to be sure that the "brake" is applied and the relay covers that with no problem at all. I still can acess everything on my on my BT...sync contacts, caller ID, etc.

When I bought the D3 from you freeway I completely forgot to ask you if it had been bypassed already. The D3 I have in my expedition is bypassed already and I can play whatever when I am driving. I did the bypass on the one I bought from you when I put it in my wifes car and it works great also. You have to switch a pin in the harness and then ground it. I just cant remember which pin.

same H/U,same problem, and same solution except I had to drink beer to figure out I neded a relay instead of just a ground
