Ok before I get cajones deep in an install and find out issues let me be prepared ahead of time.

Bought the wife a 2005 Eddie Bauer a few weeks ago. I am going to install all new stereo pieces. Massive audio components, massive audio coaxials, Rockford amp, infinity 10" sub in a ported box, and last but not least a double din hu. Now what am I going to need for adapter harnesses to keep the steering wheel controls, rear controls, backup sensors and last but not least, the rear DVD setup. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gregg

Thanks for the info. It is appreciated. I am looking at using the new Pioneer app radio. It runs off of the iPhone. I'm not looking to play videos on the head unit, just retain how the DVD player works now. Is it going to be pretty much the same process? The head unit I want doesn't have a cd/DVD player in it. That's why it is vital that the DVD works like stock.

Since you will lose the rear console radio controls once you remove the stock HU, you will need to splice the wires in the DVD harness like I did so you will have sound through the headphones. The Audio out from the DVD runs a long loop from the DVD to the HU, to the rear controls and back again. Once the HU is gone, no sound will be there.

the backup sensors wont be affected by this...everything else will and you'll need the steering wheel adapter to maintain those functions...

im one step closer... just awaiting my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X995 to get delivered (ugggh tomorrow) then I can finish my install.all of the Massive audio components and Coaxial's are in. Amazingly they hit harder than the factory Audiophile sub. cannot wait to install the head unit, the Rockford Fosgate Punch 800A2 amp, and the Infinity 10" sub in a properly built to spec ported box! its going to be a great weekend!

One the install is complete I will get all the pics for yall to enjoy.

Here is the head unit my wife chose (she didnt want a double DIN)

coaxials

amp (had it laying around)

Sub

Amp wiring kit (love their kits... so cheap but UNGODLY GOOD, more wire surface area in 4 gauge then competitors 0 gauge))

and no my amp will not kill it. my bro in law is running the same sub, same box (he builds the boxes using computer program) and he is running 3000 watts through it... watts wont kill it, clipping will.

Looking forward to seeing it. I sold my amp right before my wreck and was going to use the money to help buy a bigger one. But that money ended up being spent on repairs :(. Now I'm driving around with an 18" sub and no amp. I'm bass-less.

ok.. just recorded the video. ignore my army pt sweats from back in the day... it is cold out...obviously a camera cant reproduce the sound correctly but let me tell ya, it sounds better than my 300c i had, that had boston acoustic speakers, a 12" diamond audio D312 sub in a ported box, cerwin vega xl600.1 amp with a Kenwood DNX5120 head unit...

I like it. Pretty clean install. You should check out the "Edit" button in the future though.
