why not...i love hearing the high hats...love hearing the bass...and right now i'm drowning out my mids/highs...so when i redo my system i'll have 6.5 or 6.75 components with extra set of tweets...i'll also add a set of components in the very back so the 3rd row isnt getting completey bassed out...

Just my .02 cents... I used 6.5" components with silk soft domes up front with coaxial 6x8's with the same tweeters built into them and sitting in the 3rd row there is no absence of mids or highs.... Just saying.. That's why I said it is probably the best setup I have ever done. This is built to be more sound quality then spl's though. I'm happy!

Haha, hatin' on my weird tweeter location. That's where I want to mount them if I decide to cut into my doors. I've been pretty bored so I'll probably end up putting them there tomorrow or Wednesday.

Lol my brother-in-law builds custom boxes and his single 15" is completely INSANE! Especially mixed with his focals!

Lol likewise. You should check out my 18". When I get a new amp I'll upload some windshield-wiper flex videos. I can make them bounce up off the glass at about 27-28 Hz :)

Dex...hatin...never...wierd...MOST DEF!!! LOL...

Yeah lol, the vents create an echo-like effect. Sounds like they're in a tunnel. (They pretty much are) So I can't keep them there. It makes them sound louder for sure...but better...eh not so much.

Well the sub gave up the ghost. I knew it wasn't gonna live forever. 400 watt sub behind an old school Rockford Fosgate punch 800a2 amp. No the voice coils didn't fry. I was listening to Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood", and it was hitting hard as can be... All of a sudden it got real muddy sounding and bottoming out. Well after a quick inspection, the surround let go of the cone 2/3 of the way around.

So... I ordered the brand new, just released Alpine type R 10" sub. Has same secs for a box and vent but handles over 1000 watts, and has 7mm more excursion than the infinity did. It should hit decently louder and harder than the infinity and do it A LOT longer!

cant do 10's...mental thing...12's only...15's are reserved for heavy hitters in my mind...when i'm able to use my entire rear area...4-12's or 2-15's...

lol to each his own, but with 2 boxers, and 3 GROWING kids, my wife needs as much space as she can keep in her Expedition, and 12's, 15's, and 18's were not advantageous to this criteria ;)

ok so this Alpine SWR-1043D has been installed, and holy squirrel testicles, this thing SLAMS compared to that Infinity. has a lot more excursion, stronger motor, stronger stiffer surround, and handles a lot more power! I love this little Alpine! It does not sound like any 10 I have heard before, it is as loud as a 15, but with the 10's tightness for bass reaction. OH YEAH!!!
