We just use an I pad mount on the moon roof. I know not perfect, but we can all watch/listen to the same movie. On big road trips we have a roof carrier installs, so helps to block the sun. Even without the carrier the kids have yet to complain, but I guess it is better than the license plate game :)View attachment 27126
Oh, I like that a lot too!

These look great man. Unfortunately, my four kids would probably grab on to the units while getting into the car. The way they stick out just invites someone's hand to hold on to them. I can also imagine in the event of a crash, smashing one's head into the glass screen won't be a pretty sight. I much prefer those that are integrated into the headrest. Either way, they look very sleek.

Only way for someone to impact these in a crash is if they are unbelted or the seat fails. At that point you are screwed whether or not there is a screen in front of you.

These tablets are the reason I opted out of getting the OEM rear entertainment system, very slick!

How difficult was it to run the wires through the seats?

not bad. if you look its actually a zipper running 75% of the seat. so there was not far to get the wires through...just got done with these.. they are very easily removable.. work really nice.. got youtube TV on them along with Netflix and amazon so the kiddos have endless options...ill post some more pics and vid of the units soon...

My OEM units have been great so far. Stinks no blu Ray, but all of the kiddo movies come with both blu Ray and dvd nowadays

That’s pretty fabulous. Do they play dvds or are they strictly “tablets”?

Do you have any tips to getting to this zipper? I messed with it for a few minutes tonight, but wasn't able to get to the end of the zipper. Is there anything you had to take off first?

Just an FYI to anyone looking to run wires through the seat. This video shows the approximate construction of the seat at 1hr 17 min. https://youtu.be/AlOHG5AeckY

The general process is as follows.
1. Pop the two connectors on the bottoms of the seats down. Use caution and leave the ignition off as one of them is an airbag wire. You don’t need to disconnect it.
2. Unhook the two elastic straps from the bottom.
3. Use a trip tool to remove the two plastic trim plugs that hold the seat fabric at the bottom corners.
4. Unzip both sides.
5. Release the clips from vertical wires.
