Just picked up an 07 EL Limited this week and so far I love it! I'm coming out of a Hemi Ram with 10" of lift and 37" tires. The truck was great, but not good for a new family member or road trips!

I thought the EL had some high end factory wheels, but the dealership said they were aftermarket. I think they look pretty good. I've got a Lockpick & backup camera ordered, and Tint goes on Monday. Looking at the rear wiper mod, and some kind of cargo liner so the dogs dont stink up my rig.

Do you guys have any suggestions on things to look out for, or any inexpensive mods you think are worthy? I'm doing 5% tint, with 50% on the windshield, so I'm thinking HID's for the fogs and heads are next, along with some front/rear emblem overlays and debadging. Oh and possibly some LED tails if anyone makes something that I like.

Just factory option wheels, not what I would call aftermarket. Still nice rims!

There aren't much for inexpensive mods - what kinds of things are you looking for?

Looks good. I like the wheels. Watch out for bubbling paint on the tailgate.

1. anti-sway bar kit...$300
2. billet grill...dont know pricing for 3rd gen
3. K&N CAI or some other brand...or gotts mod if it can be done on 3rd gens
4. ebay for LED tails...i have IPCW LED tails...they should make some for you but you can find LEDs for your year

5. go 35% for the windshield and get a visor strip on top of that...i have 5% and 15% on the 2nd doors back...5% on front doors...35% with 5% stirp...and i see just fine at night and you cant tell anything during the day...50% would be too light...during the bright sunny days...my view through my windshield is like having shades on while in a car with clear windows...anything darker would be too much...50% is almost not having anything on...dont let the numbers get to you...go 35%

6. custom tune programmer
7. Totally Custom Decals - By Patriot Decals.com for overlays

this is what it looks like during the day...

IMG-20120705-00180.jpg

this is how it looks on the outside...again...35% and 5% strip on windshield...5% only on fronts...5% and 15% on rest of windows

Thanks guys!

Freeway, thanks for the info and pics, I was really nervous about the windshield tint, but I think you have me sold on the front glass. I was already planning the 5/15 for the sides.

I attempted to de-badge tonight and was very upset to find that the side badges had locating pins with holes in the door. UGH that sucks. Guess I'll look at plastidip or some other way to freshen up the badges since they are pretty faded out.

Anyone have comments on the many different HID conversion kits available? any to stay away from? (flicker, etc) or any that are proven?

Does the anti-sway bar make a big difference? How hard is it to install yourself?

my 2011 expy came with factory anti sway bars, not sure but i thought all gen3 expys had factory anti sway bars.

i do have a full hellwig set of sway bars too, haven't gotten around to installing them yet though.

i bought my 6K HID kits (heads/fogs) from ebay...mine are Xentec and i've had them in for 1 yr in headlights (before new headlights) and 2 yrs in fogs (still in) with no probs...i paid $35 per set...i think they are up to $50 now on ebay if you buy by the set so you would come out cheaper by buying the ballast and bulbs seperate...a lot of folks buy from ddmtuning.com and have had NO complaints whatsoever...and i think those are $70 per set...

makes a HUGE difference!!! if you have wider rims...your handling increased...you put the anti-sway bars on...OMG!!! my infamous S-curve story....so there a 4-turn s-curve going to my wife's job...posted speed limit is 35 mph...before anti-sway bars...i had to do 35 mph or else i would have the feeling of possibly loosing control and my wife would be holding on as i went through...AFTER INSTALL...i can take the same 4-turn s-curve at 45 mph...NEVER GETTING THE SENSE OF LOOSING CONTROL...and my wife sits there like she doesnt feel it...

trying my luck...i have successfully taken it to 50 mph...and not once did i feel out of control...WORTH EVERY DOLLAR

install...install is easy...4 bolt in the rear and take off nuts on sway links...same for front...took about 30 minutes and thats because i never did anything like that before...you use the some bolts/nuts on the truck...throw away the old anti-sway bars (or sell them) and use the new bushing that comes with the kit...DONE
