03 5.4. I got a pinhole leak shooting cooling out the back of the metal tube under the intake. Ive had lean codes for awhile as well and trouble keeping her running in the cold, so I am replacing the intake. I got the coolant bypass tube off after fighting those studs on the back for hours. Here's my question. Do I go back OEM metal tube, actually dorman is what available in a timely fashion near me, or rubber hose mod it and run it out front of the intake. I have the heated PCv valve if that makes a difference. The expy is no beauty queen I want reliability and ease of working on. Thanks for your thoughts.

I'd go with the metal tube. It has been there for a heck of a lot longer than a rubber hose would probably last. Guess it depends on how long you plan to hang on to it also how much easier the mod would be.

Replaced the tube today. Ratchet wrench is the key. 10mm and 13mm for those that are curious. Bought the fel pro orings for the tube. Got it all back together about 7 tonight. Started and let it run. No leaks. My dad volunteered to help for something to do. Good times on the studs
