hello peoples, just got me a 99 expedition EB pretty sweet except for that rod knock but it was close to free. ill be on here searchin for answers and asking questions on best way to fix this thing.

Was just throwing it out there... its one option.
OP.. you can rebuild your current motor if you have another mode of transportation. How far you want to go would depend on your budget.

thanks everybody! Tom i may get at you about that. i dropped the oil pan and the crank is seriously messed up from piston #3 i dunno if i can turn that much damage out of it. ill be rebuilding it myself i actually have no clue how to do the timing on this thing itll be my first engine rebuild on something newer than an 1980 engine. looking forward to it. its a spare ride got it for family trips i can take a week or a year to finish it. thanks
