Checking in. Wife has a 2001 XLT 4.6 with 190,000 miles that we purchased new. Looks new on the inside and almost new on the outside with the exception of a small dent on the door where a nice resident of downtown Atlanta tried to break into the car. Its now in semi retirement, used mainly for out of town road tripping. It just returned from its annual thanksgiving trip to Central Illinois covered in salt spray. Spent the day yesterday getting that crud off the car. Car gets good mechanical care as I was a ASE tech in my former life.
Everytime we think about getting rid of it and see that its not worth anything, we decide to hold onto it. Coil packs, 1 alternator and 1 thermostat are the only non routine items needed in 15 years.
