Just picked up an 04 Eddie Bauer with 140,000 on it. Carfax report showed a great deal of maintenance done from the one owner.

I just ordered rotors and pads from Brakemotive after reading reviews here. Any guidance or warnings for me prior to doing the job?

I am also looking to treat some rust in the area of the radiator support bracket where the frame and support meet. I am considering a rust converter such as corroseal. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Want to get on it before winter here in the Midwest makes it worse.

Also, how can I tell if I have a 2valve or 3valve 5.4l? I want to change the spark plugs and want to know if I should purchase the Lisle broken plug extractor ahead of time.

Is there anything else I should be looking at as far as necessary maintenance or replacement at this age / mileage?

Thanks for all the info posted here.

Pretty sure an 04 is still a 2v.
Make sure to check that rad support, mine was there in spirit, mostly rotten, they have a tendancy to go.

Thanks for the info.

I plan on working on the radiator support in the next week or so. Going to clear off any rust and treat with por15. Hoping this will slow the corrosion for a bit. I saw one of the guys had the support replaced. Pretty intensive deal. Any insights on other options for the support.
