Having a bit of problem, had a bunch of engine codes on an 06 XLT. Got everything cleared, down to a 0304, replaced the coil pack... still have 0304 code, still have a miss, truck runs like crap-misses; and the engine light is flashing.

Change the spark plug!

good luck though, that's the hardest plug to reach.

You only mention replacing the coil pack.

Did you replace the plug and boot?

Did you check the wiring connector and check the wiring back to the PCM?

Nothing like only doing job half way OR HALF A$$ED Had that problem once in the past turned out to be a pin hole burn in the boot

BOOT? The rubber part that contains the spring wire that connects the coil to the spark plug

Well sometimes people just buy a coil and some coils come with the boot and some don't

But I have a hard time trying to figure out why someone that is getting a misfire code would only change the coil and not the spark plug.

How many miles on the expy?
And when was the last time ALL the plugs were changed??

Sounds like its long past the time for ALL the plugs to be changed 100k on the firs set yet 150k on the second set and haven't been changed yet I can imagine what the gap on the plugs looks like

Found a qualified mechanic on craigslist out on his own. Changed all the plugs & coils for $125 labor in a surprisingly short amount of time. Definitely worth it to me.
