- noise just started this weekend....

I the vehicle is moving and accelerating , a noise that seems like a vibration occurs around 1,500 rpm’s. It goes away at cruising speeds / rpm. If I’m in park and rev it up it does not occurs. If I take off faster it don’t notice it, just normal acceleration i gear / feel it.

I bought it a year ago and have service record, transmission fluid service done 20,000 miles ago.

Anything I should check before having the mechanic I use take a look? Should I just try new tranny fluid?

2007 5.4 XLT 4x4 131,000 miles.

Thanks!!

cel? sounds like this could be a tune up situation bad plugs or a coil not firing correctly or a crack in the plug coil boot

A electrical issue like tune up related will get worse at around 40mph or above, not 1500 rpm. Common problem on 6 speed Automatics is dirty fluid causing torque converter to misbehave. Do a codes check first, but it might be worth to do a drain or if not too high mileage, a flush of trans. 131k if never changed, you might try the trans fluid.

Can you tell where the noise is coming from? The rear or front? Maybe rear differential or universals?
