So, as the title states, I don't own an Expedition. Yet. I actually have a 1966 Ford F100 that has been in the family since it was new. My dad and I worked on it together when I was growing up. He gave it to me just a few weeks before he died. Now, my sons and I are completely rebuilding it. Only, we are not restoring her. The most common thing these days is to put the independent suspension from a Crown Victoria on it. Front and rear. It is so common that they make a pre-made kit to do it. Well, I like to do things differently. Plus, to me, you lose all ability to tow with that setup. I'm trying to find out if the front and rear suspension from an expedition will fit. It is 2wd and I need the frame measurements to see if it is even possible. If I'm not mistaken, are the 2003 and up the only full size truck Ford makes with 4 wheel independent suspension? I'm willing to use the solid rear axle from older models if I have to. It still gives me the addition of rear disk brakes. If anyone is willing to do some measurements for me I would greatly appreciate it. I'll post pics of the progress if it is possible to even work. I'm even putting the 5.4 in with all the electronics of the expedition in her. Minus airbags of course. Thanks in advance for any help.
