I have a 2005 Expedition. Yesterday while driving on the highway the O/D off sensor started flashing. I pulled over and shut the truck off. When turned back on the light was no longer flashing. I continued driving on the highway and after a few minutes the light started flashing again. I made it home but noticed when I got off the highway the truck was hesitating. I let it sit a while and then tried to take it for another ride to see what was going on. Never made it out of my driveway! The truck started and no lights were flashing but when I put it in reverse and started to back out the truck just stopped moving. I tried it in drive and still wouldn't move. You can hear the engine accelerating when the gas pedal is pressed but the truck wouldn't move. Any ideas of what I'm looking at here????

Automatic trans operate on hydraulic fluid & pressure. Check your fluid level first and tell use the color - should be reddish and not have a burnt smell.
The solenoids inside control the flow of the trans fluid to operate the bands and clutches - possible to lose some or all of them due to electrical issues.

Let us know the results on the fluid. If the fluid is fine you're probably headed for a trans shop.

Fixed

Ckecked the transmission fluid and it was bone dry!
Had it towed to my mechanic and hoped for the best....luckily it was just a leak in the transmission line!!
The line was replaced, fluid was added and I have my truck back home....all is right in the world :)
