Ok so I narrowed down my rough idle to an O2 Sensor bank 1 sensor #2. There are 2 banks and 4 sensors. Bank 1 refers to passenger side Bank #2 refers to drivers side and Sensor #1 is I believe After 1st set of cats and sensors #2 are after second cats.

here are the tools I used

I was lucky and did not need pb blaster fortunately it came right out. Here are the pics

so as you can see it is pretty easy to do.

Just did mine last weekend. A word of advice don't buy the socket from NAPA, I paid almost the same amount for the socket as the O2 sensor. I figured out why Advanced Auto was sold out, $13 at Advanced $29 at Napa.

notice a difference after?

Mine idles a lot better now and of course my CEL is no longer on.

Toms I wish I had looked under the truck before I opened the socket because that's exactly how I did mine 7/8 open ended wrench.:flamingdevil:

was your sputtering under hard acceleration? I went to class once from from car quest auto parts and they talked about O-2 systems...and how that they should be replaced at or around 50k in order to keep accurate readings...

It was sputtering all over the board, hard acceleration just cruising and even just idling it was acting weird. The biggest problem I had was that it was so intermittent that I wouldn't throw a CEL. After about a week of driving I finally did and was able to figure out the problem.

you can see how bad it was in the picture so 50K might be true.
