They are Genuine Ford. Alot of Ford Performance parts are just ordinary Ford production parts repackaged.

What I can’t tell you is if the 4.6 and 5.4 assemblies are the same, looks like they are but that will need to be confirmed.

Curious how difficult it is to change these . Can the cam be left in place?

Giving this set a good look. Installing a timing set and high volume pump. Both tensioners had failed seals on them. 106k on truck. Rediculous. Anyhow, the passenger side followers had a noticeable amount of play in them, as compared to driver side. Little wear on cam bearing journals too.
Funny, my 97 dakotas 318 has 230k on it, never gone further in than the spark plugs. Burns a little oil, but runs fine. Overhead cams, meh.

Did phasers, chains with cast iron early tensioners, followers and pump on a 4.6l.
There are a few tools that make job easier (see you tube videos).parts are same between both except chains and maybe guides 5.4l chains are longer. I think 4.6l has one black link and 5.4l has two or vice versa . Also added Edlebrock high volume water pump for good measure .

Yes, just need one of the service tools to compress the valve and then you can wiggle them out. Need to be cognizant of piston location before you try removing. Plenty of vids on you tube a out locating the crank
