We have a 2006 ford expedition EB with the original tires on it. Each time I go to Discount Tires to get the tire air pressure checked they tell me I need to get new tires. I was just wondering what kind of mileage you guys got on your OEM tires.

thanks in advance

It can really depend on driving style, maintinance and tire. according to the first owner of my truck, they got 80k. my H3 has original tires and they need to be changed with less than 50k.

I don't remember. Are they the Continental Conti-tracs? Those things sucked on mine. They always seemed to have poor rain performance, and squealed rather easily.

How much tread do you have left? Also, make sure to have a proper tire alignment and rotation.

75K out of the Goodyear Wranglers; 66K out of the Michelin M/S; presently on second set of Michelins. As stated above, ensure proper rotation, inflation, etc. I rotate every 5K, and if you have other than a steel wheel spare, you can do a 5-tire rotation.

I think you are supposed to start thinking about replacing your tires after your tires are 5 years old regardless of mileage. The rubber starts to break down, crack and dry rot... and you don't want a tire failure (blowout) at highway speeds.

My truck had what looked like the original Continentals on it when I got it with 58k miles. Two of them exploded in the first 2 weeks i had the truck. Got a good deal on some Yokohamas and put about 40k on them before they started to split. Wont ever give them any money again. Have Nitto Crossteks now. Only a couple thousand miles on them but so far I love em

mine had 44k and did not need to be replaced. But we were starting to travel some (by expy), so I put the Michelins on. I am not positive that mine were the originals though.

If they are at the tread bar or are dry rotted and cracking, get new ones. If you should be ok. Can't say enough about proper inflation and rotating.

As already stated, it all depends on your driving style and the actual tires you have. I just replaced 2 of the original Continental tires on our 2006 at 75,000 miles. The other 2 can get me through winter, but need replacing as well ( I just needed some better rear traction through the Winter).
