og expy EB cant get any headphones to work on dvd

I bought this rig over a year ago,never thought Id need dvd headphones.My grand daughter has moved in this summer and we do need head phones. bought a new set of wireless ford units but cannot get the remote or headphones wired or wireless to work.Any suggestions short of going to the dealer?

I know in my expy you have to press the 2 & 4 on the front radio at the same time so that you don't have to listen to the dvd while the kids are watching the dvd and I think you have to press 1 and 3 to do something else. Have you read your entertainment manual? Do the headphones have to be synched?
